Jacob Aaron Humphrey left this world on September 17th, 2021. He was born on February 23rd,
1979 in Dayton Ohio. He was the son of Timothy Humphrey and Sally Stumpf. He was known
to some by the name “Brandon” and most by the name “Jake”. Jake is survived by his son
Alexander Bryce Humphrey, his father Timothy Humphrey, his mom Sally Stumpf, HIs brothers
Trent Kenyon and Christopher Humphrey and his sisters Tammy RIchardson and Dawn Lewis.
Jake is also survived by his long time best friend and God Father Jerry Frederick. He is
preceded in death by his twin brother Joshua Humphrey, His brother Darren Kenyon and His
sister Rhonda Humphrey.
Jacob overcame so many things in his life. Losing his siblings was very hard on him, and we
know that he is happy to see them again. He was the life of any party that he was involved in, as
he had an infectious smile that could light up a room and a laugh that was contagious! Even
though he had several health problems, he always knew how to make the best of every situation
and he always lived each day like it could be his last.
Though their time was short together, Jacob shared many memorable moments with his son
Alex. The day he met Alex was a very special day for him! Though scared of the thought of
being a parent, he embraced every moment he had with him, whether in person or on the
phone. They created a lot of memories that his son will never forget.
Jacob was someone who when you met him, you immediately liked him. He never met a
stranger and loved all people! He had a caring way about him that is indescribable. He was the
type of person that would give anyone the shirt off of his back if they needed it and never looked
back and questioned why he did it.
Though we can’t explain why he was taken from us so soon, if he was still with us, he would tell
us to continue to run the race until our time comes! He would tell us to never give up and keep
fighting for what we believe is right and to love one another. He would not want us to be sad for
him, but to be happy with the memories we have of him and always keep him in our hearts.
If Jake was here today the words to this poem is what he would want to say to us.
I’m Still Here
I may be gone, but please don’t cry
Death is not the last goodbye
Death releases me of my pain
There will come a day when we will meet again
Don’t be blue and don’t be sad
Think back to the fun we had
I am always here, I hear you speak
In time of trouble, its me you seek
You don’t see me but I see you
I will do my best to pull you through
Speak to me and I will hear
Never far I am always near
Be brave my friends and do not cry
I will see you again, it’s not goodbye.
(by John F Connor)
Jacob would not want anyone to cry because he is gone, but to live life to the fullest always and
look back on the good times we had with him and laugh. He would say that he is always in our
hearts and will never leave our memory!
